Authorities have identified the man killed and the suspect taken into custody following a fatal shooting in Fort Hall early Sunday morning, according to officials involved in the investigation.

Fort Hall Police Department officers responded at approximately 2:07 a.m. Sunday to a report of a shooting in the Nagitsy Road area. Upon arrival, they located Jordan Denny of Box Elder, Montana, deceased at the scene.

Didier Tendoy of Blackfoot was taken into custody in connection with the shooting. No charges had been filed as of the time of the report, and the ages of both men were not immediately available.

The Fort Hall Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are jointly investigating the death as a possible homicide. The involvement of federal authorities is consistent with protocol on the Shoshone-Bannock Tribal lands, where the Fort Hall Reservation is located.

This is the latest in a series of serious incidents in the Fort Hall area. Earlier this month, a teenage boy died and an adult was airlifted following a pickup rollover on Shoshone-Bannock Tribal land near Fort Hall, and a subsequent crash involving a teen was linked to possible alcohol use.

The investigation remains active. Further details, including potential charges against Tendoy, are expected to be released as the case progresses.
