A 22-year-old Bonneville County resident is facing serious criminal charges after deputies say she deliberately drove a vehicle toward three people in an Idaho Falls parking lot, according to reports from eastidahonews.com.
Selena Marie Guinn was arrested and booked into the Bonneville County Jail following an investigation by the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities have charged Guinn with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a felony that carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and fines up to $15,000 if convicted.

The incident began at a WinCo Foods location when an acquaintance of Guinn’s allegedly approached three victims. According to the report, the acquaintance was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and refused to leave after being corrected by the group. The situation escalated when the acquaintance entered the driver’s seat of a Camaro but stated he was “not OK to drive,” prompting him to switch seats with Guinn.
Deputies reviewed surveillance footage from the store before making the arrest. The video reportedly shows Guinn driving the vehicle toward the three individuals in the parking lot. One victim narrowly avoided being struck by the car.
After leaving the WinCo premises, deputies pulled Guinn over. During the traffic stop, she allegedly admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving. When questioned about the incident, Guinn reportedly told officers she did not see the victims until moments before nearly hitting them and attempted to change the subject of the conversation.
Guinn also stated that her acquaintance wanted to physically fight one of the victims and claimed she had intervened to talk him out of the confrontation. Despite these claims, the evidence led to her arrest on multiple felony counts.
