Emergency responders recovered a man from the Snake River in Idaho Falls on Monday afternoon before he was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Crews were dispatched around 5:20 p.m. to the river near the Quality Inn at 525 River Parkway. Reports indicated the individual had either fallen or jumped into the water. The Idaho Falls Police Department, Idaho Falls Fire Department, and Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
Responders began lifesaving measures immediately after pulling the man from the river. He was transported to a medical facility for further care but did not survive.
Law enforcement officials are investigating the incident as a possible suicide. The manner of death has not been officially determined, and investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the event.
