BONNEVILLE COUNTY, Idaho — Two people suffered minor injuries Sunday when a GMC Sierra towing a single-axle trailer crashed on eastbound US-20 near milepost 295, just west of Idaho Falls.
The crash was reported at approximately 10:11 a.m. The trailer swerved into the westbound lanes before the GMC left the roadway, rolled down an embankment and came to rest on its cab.
The driver, a 65-year-old man, and his 75-year-old female passenger were both from Rapid City, South Dakota. Both were wearing seat belts and were taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
US-20 was blocked in both directions for about 30 minutes. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Falls Fire Department and Idaho Falls Paramedics assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
