Forecasters indicate a 50 percent chance of rain and storms during the overnight hours. Cloud cover will increase as the system pushes through, driving temperatures down in the valleys. Overnight lows are expected to fall to 48 degrees, marking a drop of roughly 10 degrees compared to Sunday’s readings.
The weather pattern is set to exit rapidly by Monday morning. While there remains a 20 percent chance of lingering rain before 9 a.m., skies will gradually clear throughout the day. Monday’s daytime high is projected to reach 68 degrees, accompanied by west-southwest winds blowing at five to seven mph.
Dry conditions will take hold immediately after the system departs. A period of zero precipitation chance begins on Tuesday and extends through Saturday. Sunny skies and calm weather are expected to dominate the region during this stretch.
High Pressure Brings Warmth
A warming trend is scheduled to begin on Wednesday as high pressure builds over the Intermountain West. This atmospheric shift will keep moisture away from eastern Idaho, ensuring dry conditions persist through the weekend.
Valley temperatures will rise steadily during this period. Wednesday’s high is expected to hit 70 degrees, followed by 72 degrees on Thursday and 75 degrees on Friday. By late week, temperatures are projected to reach the mid-to-upper 70s.
The shift in weather patterns follows the organization of high pressure in the southwestern U.S., which will move directly over the region by Wednesday. This setup promises a stable, dry forecast for the remainder of the week.
