Rollover on Highway 20 Near Rexburg Sends Occupant to Idaho Falls Hospital

A single-vehicle accident involving a rollover disrupted traffic on U.S. Highway 20 in Madison County on Saturday evening, resulting in hospital transport for at least one person.

The crash occurred near Exit 328, close to the city of Rexburg. According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at approximately 6 p.m. Emergency responders arrived quickly to secure the scene and assist those involved.

One occupant was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Authorities have not released details regarding the severity of the injuries or the specific cause of the rollover. The vehicle came to rest in the median strip of the highway, blocking lanes and creating significant delays for motorists traveling through the area.

Crews worked through the evening to clear debris and reopen the roadway. By approximately 8 p.m., the scene was cleared, and normal traffic flow resumed on this major east-west corridor connecting Idaho Falls to the Tetons and Yellowstone National Park.

Highway 20 remains a critical route for both local commuters and tourists heading toward Wyoming. While this specific incident involved only one vehicle, the stretch of highway has seen other multi-vehicle collisions recently, highlighting the need for driver caution, especially during evening hours when visibility may be reduced.

No further details on the investigation were available as crews departed the scene. Drivers in the area are advised to remain alert and follow posted speed limits.
