Courtney Cramer, 30, of Rigby, succumbed Wednesday to injuries she suffered the previous afternoon when her minivan was broadsided at a rural intersection near Idaho Falls, Idaho State Police confirmed. She leaves behind her husband, Kyle Cramer, and four children.
Crash Details at County Line Road
Troopers arrived at the scene — the junction of North 3900 East and County Line Road — at approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Cramer had been heading north in a silver 2018 Honda Odyssey when she drove through a stop sign without stopping. A white 2026 Ford F-250, moving east along County Line Road and driven by a 59-year-old Rigby man, struck the minivan on its driver’s side.
Emergency responders transported Cramer by ambulance to a nearby hospital. She was pronounced dead there on Wednesday. Authorities noted she had not been wearing a seat belt; the F-250’s driver, by contrast, was properly restrained. The crash scene kept the intersection closed for roughly three and a half hours while investigators documented the collision.
Idaho State Police say the case remains open and under active investigation. No charges or citations have been publicly announced.
Family and Community Respond to the Loss
Friends and relatives moved quickly to support the Cramer family, organizing a GoFundMe campaign in the days following Courtney’s death. The fundraising page reflects the depth of grief felt by those closest to her. “She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and someone who meant more to our family than words can express,” the GoFundMe page states, as first reported by the EastIdahoNews.com.
The coroner’s office also offered its sympathies publicly. “Our sincere condolences to the family and friends who are affected by this loss,” the office said in a statement.
The crash highlights the dangers that rural intersections throughout Bonneville County and Jefferson County can pose, particularly when vehicles fail to observe stop signs. Law enforcement officials routinely point to seat belt use as one of the most reliable factors in surviving serious collisions. In this instance, the difference in restraint use between the two drivers stood out as a significant detail in the investigation.
What Comes Next
Idaho State Police have not indicated how long the investigation will take to complete, and no timeline for any potential enforcement action has been provided. The GoFundMe campaign set up for Kyle Cramer and the couple’s children is still active for community members who wish to provide financial assistance to the family.
Bonneville County News extends its condolences to the Cramer family and everyone in the Rigby community touched by this loss.
