Idaho Falls Art Sale This Saturday to Fund Community Farm Produce Donations

An art sale featuring works from more than 125 regional artists will take place Saturday evening in Idaho Falls, with all proceeds supporting a local nonprofit farm that grows fresh vegetables for low-income families and food pantries.

The fundraiser, organized by Joyful Revolution, will auction off more than 160 small-format art pieces to benefit Happyville Community Farm. The sale concludes a weeklong exhibition at Little Bluebird Studios in downtown Idaho Falls.

Saturday Evening Sale at Shoup Avenue

The closing event begins at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Rogers Building Atrium at 545 Shoup Ave., adjacent to Little Bluebird Studios. The evening will feature live music and refreshments, with the art sale starting at 7 p.m. Community members can preview the artwork during regular studio hours through Saturday afternoon.

Each piece measures 5×7 inches and carries a minimum purchase price of $25. The works span multiple artistic styles and subjects, from landscape paintings to abstract compositions, created using watercolor, collage and other mediums.

Second Fundraiser for Food Access

Joyful Revolution, a partnership between three Idaho Falls-based artists and business owners, launched the postcard art format as a recurring fundraiser. Co-founders Jenn Hess, Alex Petersen and Jaidyn Anderson organized their first sale last fall, which generated more than $3,000 for a regional food pantry.

Petersen said organizers have been encouraged by the volume of artwork submitted for this spring’s event. Many pieces were created specifically to support the farm, according to the collective.

Krissa Deurmeier, who owns Little Bluebird Studios, provided space for the weeklong exhibition. The studio at 545 Shoup Ave., Suite 109, sells art supplies and hosts classes in downtown Idaho Falls. Exhibition hours run 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday.

Farm Produces Year-Round Donations

Happyville Community Farm operates as a nonprofit urban agriculture project in the Idaho Falls area. Since beginning operations in 2020, the farm has relied on volunteer labor to harvest more than 5,000 pounds of produce annually for donation to food pantries, soup kitchens and households experiencing food insecurity.

The farm uses protective high tunnels to extend its growing season through winter months, enabling year-round harvests.

Claudia Pine, who directs the farm, said the organization distributed fresh vegetables weekly last year through a prescription program serving individuals with health conditions and limited income. That initiative has not yet secured full funding for the current year, though demand has increased, Pine said.

Cassidy Armstrong, who manages the farm’s distribution stand, said rising food costs and recent reductions in federal nutrition assistance have increased pressure on local food aid providers. Armstrong, who also contributed artwork to the sale, said the fundraiser will help expand the farm’s capacity to serve families struggling with grocery expenses.

What Comes Next

The Postcard Art Show exhibition remains open through Saturday afternoon at Little Bluebird Studios before the evening sale. Organizers said visitors are encouraged to view the collection in advance and identify works they plan to bid on during the auction. The minimum donation per piece is $25, with all sale proceeds directed to Happyville Community Farm’s growing operations and donation programs.
