Emergency crews battled a significant structure fire northeast of Idaho Falls on Friday night, resulting in the total loss of a manufactured home and two vehicles. The incident occurred near North 75th East just after 9:16 p.m., Sept. 11.
Rapid Fire Spread
Idaho Falls Fire Department personnel arrived to find the residence fully engulfed, with flames extending to the front porch. Upon arrival, firefighters reported numerous small explosions originating from inside the structure. Crews immediately initiated suppression efforts and called for additional resources to manage the blaze.
The fire quickly spread beyond the primary structure, igniting trees and dry grass on adjacent property. Flames reached a neighboring residence, though firefighters successfully prevented further damage to that home. Northbound traffic in the area was temporarily halted to ensure scene safety and provide access for emergency apparatus.

While the involved home and two vehicles were declared total losses, there were no reported injuries. One resident was evaluated by EMS personnel on-site for potential smoke inhalation but declined medical treatment and transport to a hospital.
City officials estimate the total property loss at approximately $250,000. Crews remained at the scene conducting overhaul and mop-up operations to extinguish remaining hot spots and prevent rekindling.
