Idaho Falls Chiropractor Faces Battery Charges After Alleged Assault on Woman and Children

A 39-year-old Idaho Falls chiropractor is facing criminal charges stemming from two separate incidents involving physical contact with a woman and children, court records show. Brady Fielding has been charged with misdemeanor domestic battery without traumatic injury and two counts of misdemeanor injury to a child.

The first incident occurred April 12, when law enforcement responded to a disturbance at a residence. According to investigators, Fielding allegedly pulled a woman from a vehicle by her upper arm, leaving a dark red mark on her skin. At the time, the woman and five children were preparing to depart in a white Chevrolet Suburban for a birthday party when Fielding demanded access to the vehicle to retrieve a kitchen table.

Fielding allegedly opened the driver’s-side door and attempted to take the woman’s purse, phone, and car keys. He then moved to the passenger side and tried to obtain a young girl’s phone. After taking the woman’s keys, Fielding got into a different vehicle and left the scene, though he later returned. When he came back, he allegedly pulled the woman from the Suburban, got behind the wheel, and began backing out of the driveway with the doors still open. All five children exited the vehicle as Fielding drove away.

When officers interviewed the woman, she described a pattern of behavior she characterized as “manipulatively abusive” and controlling of finances, though she stated this was the first time Fielding had physically harmed her. Four of the five children were interviewed by deputies, and each provided consistent accounts of the incident. One child reported that Fielding repeatedly called the woman “psycho” during the confrontation.

Second Incident in June

A second alleged assault occurred June 20 when Idaho Falls Police responded to a physical disturbance call at 10:41 p.m. During that incident, Fielding allegedly slapped a 12-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl across the face with an open hand. Fielding told the responding officer that the children had been “disrespectful” and claimed he “did not strike them hard enough to leave any marks.” However, officers observed visible redness on both children’s faces at the scene. The 14-year-old girl also stated that Fielding pushed her, causing her to fall onto a bed.

Charges and Legal Proceedings

An arrest warrant for the April 12 incident was issued on April 27, the same day Fielding was booked and subsequently released. He has pleaded not guilty to the April 12 charge. If convicted of that count, he faces a maximum sentence of six months in county jail. A pre-trial conference for the April 12 case is scheduled for July 22.

Following the June 20 incident, Fielding was cited and released. If convicted of the two child injury charges from that date, he could face up to one year in prison. A pre-trial conference for the June 20 charges is scheduled for August 19. James Pendlebury is listed as Fielding’s defense attorney.

Business Closure

Brady Chiropractic, Fielding’s business in the Idaho Falls area, has closed its doors. The business’s phone line has been disconnected and its website has been taken down.

What Comes Next

The case will move toward resolution through the scheduled pre-trial conferences. The April 12 hearing on July 22 will address the domestic battery charge, while the August 19 conference will handle the child injury allegations from the June 20 incident. Both hearings will occur in Bonneville County courts.

Anyone with additional information about either incident is encouraged to contact Idaho Falls Police. The outcome of these proceedings could have significant implications for Fielding’s professional standing and personal liberty given the severity of the allegations and potential sentencing guidelines.
