The Idaho Falls Fire Department rescued a resident from a burning home on Saturday morning after responding to a structure fire on Daffodil Place.
Crews arrived at the south side residence at approximately 7:54 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found one person escaping the building. That individual alerted responders that another occupant might still be inside.
Firefighters conducted a thorough search of the structure and confirmed no other people were present. They quickly extinguished the flames, which had started in the kitchen area.
Officials estimated property damage at $20,000. The cause of the blaze remained under investigation as of Saturday afternoon.
