‘Apple Bottom Jeans,’ Fluffy comedian and country star, headline 2026 East Idaho State Fair

BLACKFOOT, Idaho — The Eastern Idaho State Fair is gearing up for one of its most anticipated seasons in recent memory, announcing a star-studded entertainment lineup for its 124th year while simultaneously honoring America’s 250th anniversary. Pop artist Flo Rida, comedian Gabriel Iglesias, and country singer Nate Smith will all take the stage at the Bank of Commerce Grandstand this fall, fair officials confirmed during a media day event Tuesday afternoon.

The fair is set to run September 4 through September 14, with Flo Rida kicking off the entertainment on opening night, September 4. Iglesias — widely known by his stage name “Fluffy” — is scheduled to perform on September 10, and Nate Smith will close out the headliner run on September 11.

124 Years of Tradition, a 250-Year Celebration

This year’s fair carries added significance as the nation prepares to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. The EISF has embraced that milestone with its official 2026 theme: “Red, White and Blue Jeans” — a nod both to patriotic pride and the fair’s deep agricultural roots in eastern Idaho.

EISF General Manager Brandon Bird spoke enthusiastically about the combination of national celebration and local tradition. “There’s no better place to celebrate the spirit of 1776 than in Blackfoot,” Bird said. “This year’s fair blends hometown tradition with big-name entertainment, all set against the backdrop of community, pride, agriculture and a good old-fashioned fun.”

Bird added that the fair’s broader programming goes far beyond the headline acts. “We’re excited for what it’s going to bring. It’s 250 years in the making. We’re excited for all of the many things that happen at the Eastern Idaho State Fair that celebrate and make it a wonderful tradition,” he said.

Classic Fair Staples Return Alongside New Headliners

Beyond the three major concert acts, the fair will continue to deliver the events and competitions that have drawn families from across Bonneville County, Bingham County, and the broader East Idaho region for generations. The grandstand schedule will again include the Gem State Class Pro Rodeo, the Western Truck and Tractor Pull, and the always-popular Demolition Derby — staple attractions that reflect the agricultural and working-class character of the region.

The announcement of Flo Rida — known internationally for the 2008 hit “Low,” featuring the now-iconic lyric “Apple bottom jeans and boots with fur” — adds a pop culture dimension to a fair lineup that has traditionally leaned toward country and Western entertainment. Paired with Nate Smith, one of country music’s rising stars, and Gabriel Iglesias, one of the most recognizable comedians in the country, the 2026 lineup represents a broad appeal designed to draw new attendees while retaining the loyal fair-going families of eastern Idaho.

The fair’s setting in Blackfoot, the seat of Bingham County and a short drive from Idaho Falls along Interstate 15, makes it an accessible destination for residents throughout the region. Events like the EISF bring significant economic activity to the local area each September, drawing visitors from across Idaho and neighboring states.

The fair’s announcement follows a season of growing community investment and event programming across East Idaho. Earlier this year, Idaho Falls celebrated the completion of a multi-million dollar renovation of the Frontier Center, further signaling the region’s commitment to public gathering spaces and community events.
