KUNA, Idaho — A human-caused wildfire near Kuna has scorched approximately 1,500 acres along Swan Falls Road, prompting a significant multi-agency response as firefighters worked through the weekend to bring the blaze under control.
The Moore Fire, burning south of Dedication Point in Ada County, drew crews from the Bureau of Land Management’s Boise Unit Fire, who were dispatched to the scene Saturday afternoon. Idaho Power, the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, and Idaho State Police all joined the response effort on the ground.
Containment of the fire was reached late Saturday evening, roughly an hour and a half behind the initial projected timeline. Fire officials indicated Sunday afternoon was the target for achieving full control of the blaze.
Road Closures Lifted After Initial Restrictions
Authorities temporarily closed roads from West Victory Lane south to Dedication Point as crews battled the fire. State police turned away vehicles attempting to access Swan Falls Road during the height of the response. Those closures have since been lifted as conditions improved.
While no mandatory evacuation order was issued, officials on scene recommended that area residents leave the vicinity as a precaution. Investigators are actively surveying the fire’s point of origin, and an inquiry into the cause is ongoing.
Investigation Underway Into Human-Caused Ignition
The Idaho Department of Lands has classified the fire as human-caused. No additional details regarding the circumstances of the ignition have been released as the investigation continues.
Wildfire activity is a recurring concern across southern Idaho as temperatures rise and vegetation dries heading into the summer months. Residents in the area are encouraged to remain aware of fire conditions and follow official guidance during any active incidents.
